Our partner Sonia Bom, attended the annual summer gathering at the Nivaagaard Teglværks Ringovn, where the Board Chairman Carl Jørgen Schousboe expressed gratitude to all the wonderful volunteers — the representatives, blacksmiths, guides, hosts, helpers, and friends of the site — who keep the Nivaagaard Teglværks Ringovn’s cultural activities alive and protect this unique cultural heritage.

The chairman spoke about activities from recent years, including the long-awaited official approval of Alex Poulsen Architects' project for the transformation and renovation of the exhibition building "Højladen." The board is now actively applying for funding for the construction project, and all involved parties hope that granted funds will bring the project to life.

Alex Poulsen hopes that enough funding can be achieved to realise the exhibition building, which will provide the perfect setting for an important display of the Brickworks' museum collection and convey the history of brickmaking since the Middle Ages.

OUR ROLE

Over the years, Alex Poulsen Architects has been involved in several renovations and transformation projects at the Nivaagaard Teglværks Ringovn.

As the lead consultant in all phases of the project, Alex Poulsen Architects received the “2018 Fredensborg Municipality Renovation Award” for the renovation of one of  the heritage-listed building Vognporten.
