Copenhagen Airport “GO” Connector

In collaboration with Rambøll, APA developed regulatory and tender-ready projects for a new temporary walkway at Copenhagen Airport, designed to guide passengers to the low-cost terminal, GO.

A temporary solution with lasting impact

The CPH GO Connector exemplifies the commitment to maintaining high standards of passenger experience, even during periods of construction and transition. It is a thoughtful solution that reflects Copenhagen Airport’s focus on seamless operations and customer satisfaction.

Part of a transition

The walkway is a critical solution during the construction of Pier E, as the construction site occupies the location of the current walkway to ‘GO’. To ensure uninterrupted passenger flow, the existing walkway will be replaced by a temporary one, which connects seamlessly to the remaining infrastructure. This temporary walkway is expected to have a lifespan of at least three years, serving as an efficient and practical transition until the permanent solution is completed.

Quality as a priority

Although temporary in nature, the walkway maintains a quality standard consistent with the rest of Copenhagen Airport. Key design considerations include:

  • Material Selection: Robust and easy-to-clean materials ensure durability while supporting efficient wayfinding.

  • Passenger Experience: Strategically placed windows provide views of the stand areas, allowing passengers to orient themselves while enjoying a glimpse of the bustling activity at the gates.

The design prioritizes functionality and aesthetics, ensuring that passengers experience a smooth and pleasant journey to Terminal GO.
