Nykredit Headquarters
Standing at Svanemølleholmen in Nordhavn, the new Nykredit Headquarters serves as the main office for both Nykredit and AP Pension. Designed to accommodate nearly 3,000 employees, the project also embraces a strong connection to the local community, offering publicly accessible spaces at both the ground and rooftop levels.
In collaboration with NIRAS, Alex Poulsen Architects played a key advisory role in evaluating and refining the competition proposal, ensuring alignment with Nykredit’s vision and functional requirements. APA also assisted in reviewing and assessing the construction program and proposed design adjustments. The winning design by PLH Architects was completed and put into use in 2024.

Mixed-use design for community engagement
A defining feature of the new headquarters is its mixed-use approach, integrating public and private functions to create a dynamic work environment while benefiting the broader community. Beyond office spaces, the building extends an open invitation to the public with a café and community kitchen, accessible both during and after working hours, and a public rooftop garden, offering green space and panoramic views.
By blurring the boundary between corporate and communal space, the headquarters fosters interaction, engagement, and a lively urban atmosphere.
A vivid and timeless facade
The façade design reflects a commitment to timeless aesthetics and sustainability. Clad in glazed baguette terracotta tiles, the headquarters presents a distinctive and ever-changing expression. The green and blue hues symbolize stability and honesty, values central to Nykredit’s identity.
The textured, reflective surface of the material creates a dynamic interplay with daylight and the surrounding waterfront, ensuring the building harmonizes with the shifting colors of the sky and the waves of Svanemølleholmen.
